Video Editing and Motion Design With 3D and VFX
I edit music videos, motion graphics and short brand videos, and add 3D and VFX work built in After Effects, Blender and Cinema 4D. I work with artists, brands, studios and online stores that want video with real pace and finish, and because I also build websites, I can make sure the final piece plays well on the page it lives on.
What is included
- Music video editing and sync: Cuts timed to the beat and the vocal, with pacing shaped around the track, the way I worked on the Prompto releases.
- Motion graphics and animated type: Titles, lyric text, lower thirds and logo animation designed in After Effects to match the look of the piece.
- 3D elements and scenes: Objects, environments and camera moves built in Blender or Cinema 4D, or with Element 3D inside After Effects, then composited into the edit.
- VFX and compositing: Light effects, impacts, transitions and layered shots that add energy without burying the footage underneath.
- Color grading and finishing: Consistent color and contrast across every shot, graded in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro before the final export.
- Brand and product video: Short edits for launches, product pages and hero sections, cut from your footage or built from motion graphics and 3D.
- Social cutdowns in every format: Vertical and square versions for reels and shorts, so one project covers every channel you post on.
- Web-ready video delivery: Compressed exports, poster frames and embeds set up on your Shopify or WordPress site so the page stays fast.
What does your video editing and motion design service include?
It covers the full path from raw material to a finished, export-ready video: editing, motion graphics, 3D elements, VFX, color and delivery. You can hire me for one part, such as grading a cut you already have, or for the whole piece.
Most projects combine several of these layers. A music video might start as a straight edit to the track, then pick up animated lyrics, a few 3D objects and light effects on the chorus. A product video for an online store might be mostly motion graphics, with short clips of the product in use.
The work I take on falls into these groups:
- Music videos and lyric edits cut to the track
- Motion graphics, logo animation and animated typography
- 3D elements and scenes from Blender or Cinema 4D
- VFX and compositing in After Effects
- Color grading and finishing
- Brand, product and social cutdowns for websites and reels
Because I am also a full-stack developer, delivery can include getting the video onto your Shopify or WordPress site in a way that keeps the page fast. That saves passing files back and forth between an editor and a developer who never speak to each other.
Who hires a video editor and motion designer like me?
Musicians, creators, brands and small businesses that need finished video without hiring a full production team. My strongest fit is work where the edit needs energy and visual layers on top of the footage, not just clips trimmed and placed in order.
Artists and music projects
Independent artists and music brands that want a video cut tightly to the song, with motion graphics, 3D and VFX carrying the visual style. I worked as a music video editor for Promptomusic from 2019 to 2024, so this is the kind of video I have made the longest.
Online stores and brands
Shopify and WordPress businesses that need product clips, hero loops and social versions that match the look of their site.
Studios and agencies
Production houses and web agencies that need an extra editor or motion designer for a project, or someone who understands both the video and the website side. I have worked inside teams as well, as a video editor and content manager at Wheelspin Media Group from 2022 to 2024. I also look after the websites of DUSC Studio, a video production and content creation house, and its wedding film arm, DUSC Weddings.
Which software do you use: After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Blender or Cinema 4D?
I use all five and pick by the job rather than by habit. Each one has a clear role in my workflow:
- After Effects for motion graphics, animated type, VFX and compositing
- Premiere Pro for editing longer cuts and managing footage
- DaVinci Resolve for color grading and finishing
- Blender for 3D modelling, animation and rendering in Cycles or Eevee
- Cinema 4D for 3D motion work, rendered with Redshift or Octane
Around those core programs, Element 3D brings 3D objects straight into After Effects compositions, which is how the 3D elements in I'll Never Cry Again were made. Photoshop and Lightroom handle stills and graphics, Mixamo helps with character animation, KitBash3D supplies detailed kits for building environments, and Unreal Engine is there for real-time scenes. CapCut covers quick vertical edits when speed matters more than layers.
If your team already works in one of these programs, tell me at the start. That way the project files can be handed over in a form your people can open and update later, instead of a finished export that nobody in-house can change.
What music videos have you edited?
My video case studies are mostly music videos, and they show the style I work in most: fast cuts locked to the music, layered VFX and animated typography.
- Prompto x Wavele$$ - Drag: a music video edit in After Effects and Blender that mixes anime scenes with VFX, motion graphics, 3D elements and animated typography.
- Prompto x Sinizter - Driftin: a high-energy edit that adds Cinema 4D to the After Effects and Blender pipeline for its 3D elements.
- Prompto x Mobbs Radical x ONI INC. - Final Flash: built around dynamic VFX, 3D elements and animated text, with fast-paced visual storytelling.
- Prompto - Ed Edd n Eddy: a stylized contest video from 2020 focused on quick editing, strong music sync and a bold animated look.
- I'll Never Cry Again: a personal project made with After Effects, Cinema 4D and Element 3D, slower and more emotional in its pacing.
The Prompto pieces come from my time as a music video editor for Promptomusic, a role that ran from 2019 to 2024. Prompto Music's testimonial on my site says that combining web development with creative execution made the final output stronger, and that combination is exactly what this service offers.
How do 3D, VFX and animated type fit into an edit?
They are layers added after the edit structure is locked, and each one has a job. The cut sets the rhythm, and everything on top should support it rather than compete with it.
3D elements
I model and animate objects or full scenes in Blender or Cinema 4D, render them, and composite them over the footage in After Effects. For simpler shots, Element 3D places 3D objects directly inside an After Effects composition, which keeps changes quick.
VFX and compositing
Light effects, impacts, glows, transitions and layered shots are built in After Effects. I time effects to the music or the voiceover, so they feel tied to the piece instead of decorating it.
Animated typography
Lyrics, titles and key phrases can carry a video when footage is limited. I design type animation to suit the project, from clean lower thirds on a brand video to bold kinetic text on a music video.
Render time is the hidden cost of 3D and heavy VFX. I plan those shots early and show you previews before the final renders, so changes happen while they are still cheap to make.
Can you make video for my website or Shopify store?
Yes, and this is where my two skill sets meet. I build Shopify and WordPress sites as well as editing video, so the same person can make a product clip and decide how it loads, where it sits on the page and what it does on a phone.
Video on a website follows different rules from video on social media. A hero loop needs to be short, silent, compressed hard and backed by a poster image so the page renders before the video plays. A product demo needs controls, captions and a sensible file size. A background video on mobile often should not play at all.
I have worked on video-led sites before. The Illusion Fires Shopify store, which I develop on custom Liquid, runs video-heavy product storytelling through its sections. DUSC Studio, a video production house whose web presence I look after, needs its reel front and center without slowing the site down.
Typical website video work includes:
- Hero loops and section backgrounds
- Short product demos and feature clips
- Animated logos and brand intros
- Vertical cutdowns for reels that link back to the store
How does a video project run, and how long does it take?
Every project follows four stages: brief, rough cut, motion and polish, then delivery. The timeline depends on what goes into those stages, so I set it in writing once I have seen your footage and references.
The brief is where most time is saved. I need the track or script, any footage, reference videos you like, the formats you need and your deadline. From that I write a scope and a schedule with milestones.
The rough cut comes next, with no effects yet. This is where you approve structure, pacing and shot choices, because changing those after 3D and VFX are in place is slow and expensive.
Then the layers go on: motion graphics, 3D, VFX and color. You review previews, send notes with timestamps, and I work through them in the revision rounds agreed in the quote.
As a general guide, a short social edit from good footage is the quickest kind of project, a branded motion piece takes longer, and a music video with custom 3D scenes and heavy VFX takes the longest, mainly because of design and render time. I do not quote fixed turnarounds before seeing the material.
What affects the cost of video editing and motion design?
Cost follows the amount of work inside the frame, not the length of the video alone. A thirty-second piece with custom 3D can take more time than a five-minute edit of clean interview footage.
The main factors are:
- Length of the final video and how many versions or aspect ratios you need
- Amount and condition of the footage, and how much sorting it needs
- Number of shots that need VFX, compositing or animated text
- Whether 3D is used, how complex the scenes are and how long they take to render
- Color grading needs, especially when footage comes from mixed cameras
- Licensed music, stock footage or 3D assets
- Number of revision rounds
I do not publish fixed prices, because two videos of the same length can be very different jobs. Projects are quoted after a short call or a look at your material. My contact form lists budget ranges from under $499 up to $2,000-$2,999, plus a Let's discuss option for larger or ongoing work, and picking a range helps me suggest a scope that fits it.
How do you measure whether a video is working?
By agreeing on one job for the video before editing starts, then watching the numbers tied to that job. A music video, a product clip and a homepage loop each succeed in different ways, so they need different measures.
- Music videos and social edits: watch time, how far viewers get before dropping off, and shares and saves on the platform where the video is posted.
- Product and demo videos on a store: how many visitors press play, and whether product pages with video see more add-to-cart actions than pages without.
- Hero and brand videos on a website: page speed after the video goes in, time on page and clicks on the main call to action.
On websites I can set up the tracking myself with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, so video plays and the actions that follow are recorded rather than guessed. I do not promise view counts or sales figures, because those depend on your audience, your distribution and your offer as much as on the edit. What I focus on is a video built for its job, with a clear way to see how it performs.
Does video help with SEO and AI search?
It can, when the video is published in a way search engines and AI assistants can read. A video file on its own tells a crawler very little, so the page around it has to do the describing.
When I add video to a site, I handle the parts that make it readable:
- A descriptive title and a short summary near the video
- Captions or a transcript, so the spoken content exists as text
- VideoObject schema markup with the title, description, thumbnail and duration
- A poster image and lazy loading, so the video does not drag down Core Web Vitals
- Clear file names and alt text on the poster frame
AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews build their answers from text, so a transcript and a plain summary give them something to quote. It is the same thinking I apply to technical SEO and AI search optimization on my web builds.
For music videos hosted on video platforms, the work shifts to titles, descriptions, chapters and thumbnails, which I can prepare alongside the final export.
Who owns the finished video and the project files?
In general, the finished video you pay for is yours to publish and use, and the exact terms are written into the quote before work begins. The details worth agreeing up front are which files you receive and which third-party assets sit inside them.
Final exports
You receive the master file and every version in the scope, such as vertical, square and web-compressed cuts.
Project files
After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Blender or Cinema 4D project files can be included if you want the option to edit later. Tell me at the start, because a project that will be handed over gets organized and labelled with that in mind.
Third-party assets
Licensed music, stock footage, fonts and 3D kits stay under their own licenses. I list what is used so you know what each license covers, and I avoid assets whose terms do not fit how you plan to use the video.
Your own footage, logos and music stay yours throughout and are used only for your project unless we agree otherwise.
Can I work with a remote video editor in the Philippines?
Yes. Video is one of the easiest kinds of creative work to run remotely, because footage, previews and feedback all travel well online. My base is Botolan, Zambales, and I keep Philippine hours (UTC+8) while editing for clients across the US, the UK, Europe and Australia.
The time difference helps on edits more than it hurts. Clients in the US and Europe can send notes at the end of their day and have them worked through while they sleep, and my hours overlap the whole Australian business day.
The practical setup is simple:
- Footage and project files move through a shared cloud folder
- Previews are compressed review exports you can watch on any device
- Feedback arrives as written notes with timestamps, which removes guesswork
- Calls are booked at a time that suits both sides when talking is faster than typing
You also get regular written updates through the project, so you always know which stage the video is at and what I need from you next.
How the work runs
- Brief: We go through the track or script, footage, references, formats and deadline. I reply with a written scope and schedule.
- Rough cut: I build the structure and timing first, without effects, so you can approve pace and story early.
- Motion and polish: I add motion graphics, 3D, VFX and color, then work through your timestamped notes in the agreed revision rounds.
- Delivery: You get the master and every format in scope, and I can place the video on your site with a poster frame and fast loading.

Video Editing & Motion Design questions
Can you edit a music video from footage I already have?
Yes. Send the track and the footage, and I cut it to the song first, then add motion graphics, 3D or VFX where they help. My Prompto music videos were built this way, layering animated type, VFX and 3D elements over existing scenes.
Do you create 3D animation?
Yes. I build 3D elements and scenes in Blender and Cinema 4D, and use Element 3D inside After Effects when a 3D object needs to sit directly in a composition. The renderer, whether Cycles, Eevee, Octane or Redshift, depends on the look and the time available.
Which editing software do you use?
After Effects for motion graphics, VFX and compositing, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve for editing and color, and Blender and Cinema 4D for 3D. Photoshop and Lightroom handle stills and graphics, and CapCut covers quick social edits.
Do you offer color grading on its own?
Yes. If you already have a locked edit, I can grade it in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro so color and contrast stay consistent from shot to shot. Send a sample of the footage and I will tell you what it needs.
Can you put the finished video on my website?
Yes. I build Shopify and WordPress sites, so I can add the video to your pages with a poster image, lazy loading and the right file sizes. It saves the usual back and forth between a video editor and a separate developer.
How many revisions do I get?
The number of revision rounds is set in the quote before work starts, so it is clear from the beginning. I share a rough cut early, which means the big decisions about pace and structure are made before effects and 3D work, and later changes stay small.
How much does a music video edit cost?
It is quoted on scope after a short call or a look at your footage, since 3D, VFX and length change the work a lot. My contact form lists budget ranges from under $499 to $2,000-$2,999, plus a Let's discuss option.
