The Challenge
Spotlight Letters hires giant light up letters, numbers and neons across Sydney for weddings, proposals, birthdays, graduations and corporate events. The Spotlight Letters WordPress website had to put the spotlight on bookings in a market that is seasonal, visual and competitive.
Event hire customers decide emotionally and fast. They picture their initials, a big 21 or MARRY ME glowing at a venue, and they want to check availability and book before that excitement fades. Corporate clients behave differently: they need brand impact, logistics and a professional supplier.
The site needed separate funnels for corporate events and special occasions, imagery that sells the wow factor instantly, and booking paths that convert while someone is still imagining their name in lights. It also had to explain sizes, delivery across Greater Sydney and the ordering process clearly, so customers could book without a back-and-forth.
The Solution
I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance using dual Book Now funnels. The homepage splits early into Corporate Events (make your brand stand out) and Special Occasions (celebrate life's biggest moments), each with its own booking button and landing pages.
Special occasions have dedicated pages for proposals, weddings, birthdays and milestones, gender reveals, graduations and formals, and sporting events, plus an Ultimate Marriage Proposal package. Corporate has its own page focused on brand impact. Letters, numbers and neons each have a product category, with sizes stated clearly: letters 1m high and numbers 1.2m high.
Booking is a simple three-step process shown on the homepage: select your occasion, choose your product, then check availability, book and pay online through the cart and checkout. Gallery-led sections sell the look, Google reviews add trust and a news section publishes Sydney event ideas for search.
I keep the site maintained and secure through wedding season peaks, lights always on.
Light up letter hire for Sydney celebrations and corporate events
Spotlight Letters serves two very different markets across Sydney. Private customers want a show-stopping backdrop for a proposal, wedding, 21st, gender reveal or school formal. Corporate clients want a branded statement for product launches, end of financial year events and conferences.
Both groups are visual buyers who decide quickly, and both are heavily seasonal, with spikes around wedding season, graduations and end-of-year parties.
The website needed to inspire first and inform second. Every page leads with imagery of letters at real events, then gives the practical details customers need, including sizes, delivery across Greater Sydney and how to book, in short and friendly copy.
Dual booking funnels for corporate and special occasions
Splitting the site into two funnels keeps each message focused.
- Special Occasions: Marriage Proposals, Engagements and Weddings, Birthdays and Milestones, Gender Reveal, Graduations and Formals, and Sporting Events.
- Corporate: a dedicated corporate page about brand impact and making an event stand out.
- Extras: the Ultimate Marriage Proposal package and event photography.
Each occasion page uses language that matches the moment, from MR and MRS to CLASS OF displays, and finishes with a Book Now button. Corporate visitors never have to scroll past birthday imagery to find what they need, and private customers are never pushed through a business-style enquiry form.
Online booking: select, choose, book and pay
The booking flow is explained in three simple steps on the homepage, which removes uncertainty for first-time hirers.
First, customers select their occasion. Second, they choose letters, numbers or neons from the product categories. Third, they check booking availability, add the hire to their cart and pay through the secure checkout.
Because pricing and availability are handled online, customers can book late at night when they are planning their event, without waiting for a reply. The cart and phone number stay in the header on every page, and an FAQs page answers common questions before they become support calls.
Sydney event hire SEO and content on the Spotlight Letters WordPress website
The Spotlight Letters WordPress website targets the searches customers actually use, such as light up letters hire Sydney, marry me letters and 21st birthday light up numbers, with each occasion page focused on its own phrase.
A news section publishes Sydney-specific articles, from proposal ideas and school events to corporate launches and EOFY parties. These posts answer real planning questions and link back to the relevant hire pages, building topical authority and internal links. Keyword research in Semrush guides the topics.
Clear, helpful articles also suit AI-driven search. My guide to generative engine optimisation explains how content like this gets cited by tools such as ChatGPT and Google AI Mode.
Maintenance through wedding season peaks
When bookings peak, the site has to be quick and dependable. As developer and site manager, I handle Spotlight Letters' ongoing maintenance: WordPress, Breakdance and plugin updates, 24/7 uptime monitoring, security hardening and scheduled backups, plus checks of the cart and checkout after every update.
The results row shows the outcome: a 99.9% uptime record, zero security incidents and every page loading clean.
