The Challenge

MTA Homes is a Melbourne residential builder founded by Moe in 2019, working from an office in Epping and delivering custom homes, multi-unit developments, knock down rebuilds, renovations and extensions. Its promise is collaboration from the first brief to the final handover, and the MTA Homes WordPress website had to make that promise feel real before anyone picked up the phone.

Choosing a builder is one of the biggest financial decisions a family will ever make. Visitors arrive cautious, often after hearing stories about builders who go quiet halfway through a job. The site had to feel caring and realistic rather than salesy, show completed homes beautifully, and reassure people that they would never be left wondering what happens next at any stage of the build.

It also had to speak to two quite different audiences, owner-occupiers dreaming about a family home and investors weighing up a multi-unit development, without diluting the message for either.

The Solution

I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance and let two things carry the message: project imagery and the brief-to-keys journey. The navigation stays simple, with Home, Services, Projects, About Us, Our Process, Blogs and Contact Us, and the homepage opens with the idea of building made simple before moving into services and recent projects.

Each service has a clear one-line promise. Custom Homes is about turning a dream into reality, Multi-unit Developments about achieving investment goals, Knock Down Rebuild about building on the location you love, and Renovations and Extensions about reimagining your lifestyle. Projects such as Rosebud, Jacana and Dromana each get their own page.

The Our Process page does the heavy lifting on trust, setting out every step in plain language. A short Ready to Build? Let's Connect form closes each page. The site stays under my long-term maintenance, updated, backed up and security hardened, with an unbroken clean record.

About MTA Homes, a Melbourne custom home builder

MTA Homes was founded by Moe in 2019 with a straightforward goal: help clients achieve their lifestyle goals through building that is transparent, professional and high quality. The business works from Epping in Melbourne's north and takes on everything from single custom homes to multi-unit developments.

Their visitors fall into three groups. Families want a builder who will listen and keep them informed. Investors and developers want confidence in budgets and delivery. Existing owners want to know whether a renovation, extension or knock down rebuild is the smarter move.

The website needed to welcome all three without feeling generic. Warm language, real project photography and a visible, human process do that work, while the services section lets each visitor self-select the path that fits their situation.

Telling the brief-to-keys story on the Our Process page

The Our Process page is the heart of the site because it answers the biggest fear people have about building: not knowing what comes next. MTA offers two tracks, one for clients starting with no plans and one for clients who already have plans ready.

The no-plans track runs through eight steps, including:

  • Initial consultation and an on-site detailed assessment
  • Conceptual design, permit checks and an estimated budget
  • Construction documentation, then a contract with a full specification list
  • Building, with fortnightly site visits at major stages such as the slab pour and frame
  • A three-month check-in after move-in

The plans-ready track adds a completion and handover step, where clients receive their keys, warranty information, product care kits and a certificate of completion. Laying it out this clearly turns a promise into something visitors can see.

Project pages that let finished homes do the selling

Builders sell with finished work, so the Projects section is built to show homes at their best. Each project has its own page with a short description of what made it distinctive: coastal townhomes at Rosebud, affordability with a premium finish at Jacana, and beachside living at Dromana.

The design keeps text restrained and lets the imagery lead. Large photos, generous spacing and a calm colour palette match the caring, realistic tone MTA wanted, instead of the loud, discount-driven style common in the building industry.

On mobile, project images stack cleanly and load progressively, so a couple browsing builders on their phones can flick through completed homes without waiting. Every project page ends with a route back to the services and the Let's Connect form.

Local SEO and performance for a Melbourne builder website

The MTA Homes WordPress website is structured so each service can rank for its own type of search. Custom homes, multi-unit developments, knock down rebuilds and renovations are distinct topics with distinct buyers, and giving each a dedicated section lets Google match the right page to the right query.

A Blogs section gives MTA a place to publish helpful building content over time, which supports long-tail searches and gives returning visitors something new to read.

Performance supports SEO too. I keep the Breakdance build lightweight, with sensibly sized images and minimal third-party scripts, so pages load quickly and pass mobile usability checks. If you are weighing up the investment in a site like this, my breakdown of website costs in 2026 gives realistic numbers.

Long-term WordPress care for MTA Homes

A builder's website has to keep working long after launch, through every new project, blog post and enquiry. I maintain the MTA Homes site on an ongoing basis: WordPress core and plugin updates, regular backups, security hardening and 24/7 uptime monitoring.

That steady care is reflected in the results: 99.9% uptime, zero security incidents and every page loading clean. MTA can focus on building homes while I make sure the site that introduces them to new clients never lets them down.
