The Challenge
Independent pool shops compete with big chains on warmth, not budget. The Dolphin Pools WordPress website had to bottle the friendly character of the Dolphin Pools Splash Zone, a family-owned Melbourne pool business with more than 50 years in the industry, and make it feel like chatting with the shop counter in Wantirna South.
Behind the personality sits a wide offer: mobile pool maintenance and cleaning for residential and commercial pools, water testing, pump and equipment repairs, Maytronics Dolphin robotic pool cleaner sales and repairs, the Mineral Swim system, variable speed pumps, solar pool heating and an online shop. Each needed a clear home so visitors could book a repair or browse products without getting lost.
Because the business also delivers pool projects and renovations, the site had to show real work across Melbourne suburbs such as Balwyn, Brighton, Malvern and Hawthorn.
The Solution
I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance, with personality-forward copy that starts at the hero. The homepage welcomes visitors to the Dolphin Pools Splash Zone, sums up the brand as honest, friendly and affordable, and offers three quick routes: mobile servicing, the local pool shop for supplies and water testing, and robotic pool cleaner sales and repairs.
The menu groups the offer into Pool Services, Pool Repairs, Pool Products and Pool Equipment and Tech, with dedicated pages for pool maintenance, pool cleaning, equipment repairs, pump repairs, robotic cleaner repairs, Mineral Swim, robotic cleaners, variable speed pumps and solar heating. A Why Choose Us section sets out five reasons in a friendly voice, a services grid links to the online shop, and a projects section showcases pool transformations. Visit Us, FAQ and Blog pages round it out, with Melbourne pool shop SEO running throughout.
I keep it maintained, fast and secure, with a 99.9% uptime record and zero security incidents.
Personality-forward copy for the Dolphin Pools Splash Zone
The Dolphin Pools WordPress website sounds like the people who run the shop. Instead of corporate pool industry language, the homepage invites visitors to dive into the extraordinary, welcomes them to the Splash Zone and describes a family-owned business that builds lasting connections, not just pools. Lines like our team has seen it all and say goodbye to endless skimming and scrubbing keep the tone light while still making a point.
That personality is a competitive advantage against big chains, where the experience can feel transactional. The Why Choose Us section keeps the same voice across five reasons: decades of expertise, complete pool care so customers stop juggling providers, trusted robotic cleaners and equipment, a customer-first approach and transparent pricing. Each reason is short enough to scan on a phone.
Pool maintenance, repairs and water testing in Melbourne
Service is where most local customers start, so the site gives each type of work its own page. Pool Services covers water testing, pool maintenance in Melbourne and pool cleaning in Melbourne. Pool Repairs covers pool equipment repairs, pool pump repairs and repairs of Maytronics Dolphin robotic pool cleaners. Each page targets a specific search and ends with a clear way to book or call.
The top bar keeps the Wantirna South address, phone number and email visible, with quick links to Pool Maintenance and Water Testing, two of the services customers ask about most. For a homeowner with a green pool or a failed pump, that means getting to the right page and the phone number in one or two taps, which is exactly what an urgent pool problem needs.
Mineral Swim, robotic cleaners and pool equipment pages
Dolphin Pools sells products as well as services, and some of them need explaining. The Mineral Swim section is structured as a four-step journey, Dead Sea minerals, Ozone Swim water purification, the Dolphin Pools customer care service and AHAVA skincare, which turns a premium system into an easy story to follow. Pool Equipment and Tech has dedicated pages for robotic pool cleaners, variable speed pumps and solar pool heating.
These pages give homeowners the information they need to justify an upgrade, then point them to the online shop or a conversation with the team. The online shop itself is introduced as a range of products, gadgets and accessories for the pool, linked from the services grid and a Shop Now button near the top of the homepage.
Pool projects and local SEO across Melbourne suburbs
The Latest Pool Projects and Transformations section showcases real work in Balwyn, Brighton, Malvern and Hawthorn, each with an Explore Project link, plus a Canterbury pool renovation. Naming suburbs on genuine project pages builds local relevance far better than thin location pages, because each one has real images and real detail.
The page title targets the main searches, pool shop, pool maintenance and swimming pool products in Melbourne, and service page titles include Melbourne where it fits naturally. I use Semrush to track these terms and spot new opportunities, and the content is kept clear and factual so Google's AI Overviews can summarise it accurately. Fast, secure maintenance for Dolphin Pools
Pool season is short and busy, so the site must be fast and reliable when demand peaks. I maintain the Dolphin Pools site with regular WordPress, Breakdance and plugin updates, backups, security hardening and 24/7 uptime monitoring. It holds a 99.9% uptime record, zero security incidents and every page loading clean: crystal clear water, crystal clear uptime.
After updates, I check the service pages, project galleries and shop links on desktop and mobile so nothing breaks during the summer rush, when a broken page means a lost customer.
