24 Hour Melbourne Plumbers

Web Ops · Maintenance, 2024. Role: Web Developer

An emergency plumber cannot afford a website that sleeps. Built in WordPress with Divi, maintained and monitored around the clock, so when a pipe bursts at 2am the booking button still works.

The Challenge

24 Hour Melbourne Plumbers is an emergency plumbing business offering licensed plumbers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across inner Melbourne and the northern, southern, eastern and western suburbs. The 24 Hour Melbourne Plumbers website could not afford to sleep, because its customers rarely search at a convenient time.

They are usually standing in water when they search: a burst pipe at 2am, a blocked drain before guests arrive, a hot water system that died on a winter morning. Every second of load time and every broken button is a lost callout that goes to the next plumber on Google.

The site had to stay online day and night, show the phone number everywhere and work flawlessly on a cracked phone screen in a flooded laundry. It also needed to present a wide range of services, from hot water and gas fitting to roof plumbing and heating, and rank across a city the size of Melbourne.

The Solution

I built the site on WordPress with the Divi theme and kept the booking and click-to-call paths dead simple. The 1300 number repeats throughout every page as a tap-to-call link, and Book a Plumber Online buttons sit beside it for customers who prefer to type.

The booking form is built for emergencies. It asks for name, email, phone, suburb, service type and timing, with options ranging from this week to ASAP, It's an Emergency!, plus a message box and a CAPTCHA to block spam. The team can see at a glance which jobs need a plumber now.

Services are grouped into clear menus, Hot Water Service, Burst & Blockage, Roof Plumber and Heating and Cooling, and Areas of Service pages cover each region of Melbourne. I set up proper ongoing care, with regular updates, daily backups, and uptime and security monitoring. No hacks, no downtime dramas, just a site that keeps the phones ringing at all hours.

About 24 Hour Melbourne Plumbers and their emergency callouts

24 Hour Melbourne Plumbers promises to get a licensed plumber on the job within the hour, including public holidays. The team handles residential, commercial and industrial work, and uses GPS-tracked vehicles to dispatch the closest plumber to each job.

Their customers range from homeowners with a burst pipe to businesses that cannot trade without working plumbing. The site's client logos include well-known names such as IGA, Myer, Ray White and Red Rooster, and the homepage highlights a 4.9-star rating from more than 150 clients.

The website had to convey that this is a serious, reliable operation, not a one-person outfit, while staying simple enough for a panicked customer to use. Licensed and insured plumbers, a commitment to fix any later breakage their work causes, and same-day service are front and centre.

Building the 24 Hour Melbourne Plumbers website around the phone

In an emergency, people call. So the site is designed around the phone number. It appears in the header, in the hero, beside every service and in the footer, always as a tap-to-call link, so a customer never has to scroll to find it.

The hero sets expectations immediately with 24/7 Plumbing Service! and Same Day Service! messages. A promotion offering $55 cash back for customers who call and mention the website gives a small incentive to pick up the phone.

For customers who cannot talk, perhaps because it is the middle of the night or they are at work, the online booking form offers an alternative. Its urgency options mean emergencies are flagged instantly, while routine jobs can be scheduled for later in the week.

Service and area pages for plumbing searches across Melbourne

Emergency plumbing covers a lot of ground, so services are organised into clear groups, each with its own page and Learn More button:

  • Hot water: repairs, installation and replacement for electric, gas and solar systems
  • Burst pipes, blocked drains and leak detection
  • Gas fitting for piping and appliances
  • Heating and cooling, including ducted heating and evaporative cooling
  • Roof plumbing, gutters and downpipes
  • Pipe relining, water filters and appliance installation

Areas of Service pages cover Inner Melbourne and the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Suburbs. This gives the site a relevant landing page for searches across the whole city without creating hundreds of thin, duplicate suburb pages. Each page connects back to the phone number and booking form.

Trust signals: reviews, client logos and finance options

Emergency customers have to trust a stranger in their home, often at night, so the site builds confidence quickly. Customer testimonials from Google reviews sit alongside the 4.9-star rating, and the client logo strip shows that major businesses rely on the team.

A Why Choose Us section explains what makes the service dependable: licensed and qualified plumbers, full insurance on commercial jobs and fast dispatch. Separate sections for residential, commercial and industrial plumbing help each type of customer see that their needs are covered.

For larger jobs like a new hot water system, a humm finance section explains that approved customers can spread the cost over time. The business also shares its support for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, matching donations, which adds a human side to the brand.

24/7 monitoring, daily backups and security

A 24/7 business needs a 24/7 website. I look after the site with regular WordPress core, Divi and plugin updates, daily backups, security hardening, and continuous uptime and security monitoring, with hosting managed through cPanel. If anything looks wrong, I know about it before customers do.

The results: 99.9% uptime, zero security incidents and every page loading clean. I explain how I stay ahead of plugin vulnerabilities in my post on WordPress security in 2026.

If you run an emergency trade business and need a website that works as hard as your team does at 2am, see my work for PL Plumbing, or get in touch.
