Sparrow Design & Plans
WordPress · Architectural Drafting, 2026. Role: Web Developer
Sparrow Design & Plans is a Roseville-based residential drafting firm preparing permit-ready plans for ADUs, additions, custom homes, garage conversions and fire restoration across Sacramento and Placer County. I created its WordPress site in Elementor around fast approvals, clear timelines and a detailed quote form.

The Challenge
Sparrow Design & Plans prepares residential drawings and permit sets for homeowners, builders and developers in the Sacramento region. Its work covers custom homes, ADUs, additions and remodels, garage conversions, small multifamily projects, fire damage restoration plans and construction consultations, with clients from Roseville and Folsom to Truckee, Tahoe and Marin County.
The firm's point of difference is not the drawings themselves but what happens to them at city hall. Most drafting companies focus on delivering plans, while Sparrow focuses on getting a project approved, with fewer correction cycles and quick revisions. Its clients care about that for different reasons. Homeowners want to start building without months of back-and-forth, and general contractors want their crews booked instead of waiting on plan check.
The website had to make that approval-first message clear in seconds, publish realistic turnaround times, and explain a process that many first-time clients have never been through. It also had to speak to two audiences at once, homeowners and contractors, and capture enough detail in the first inquiry for the team to quote quickly.
The Solution
For Sparrow I chose WordPress and Elementor on the Hiroshi theme, a clean editorial base suited to a design firm. The navigation covers About Us, Our Process, a Services menu with seven service pages, FAQs, Blog and Contact. The homepage headline, plans that get approved fast so you can start building, is followed by a review rating, three trust points and a Get Your Free Quote button.
Directly under the hero I placed a turnaround panel listing typical timelines: addition plans in 10 business days, fire restoration and ADU plans in 15, custom homes in four to six weeks and multifamily projects in six weeks. The homepage then explains the three-part process, the six main services, a five-step outline of what happens after someone reaches out, sample approved projects and the firm's experience with local building departments.
The quote form, built with Contact Form 7, asks for project type, timeline and whether the client already has plans or needs revisions to plans started elsewhere. Rank Math looks after titles and structured data, while LiteSpeed Cache keeps load times short.
Sparrow Design & Plans: permit-ready drafting for Sacramento and Placer County
The About page frames the firm in one line: plans that get approved, not just drawn. It explains that Sparrow was built from hands-on experience in construction, design and engineering, and that the team has spent time on job sites and in plan review meetings, so it knows what building departments look for.
Four short blocks explain what makes the firm different: plans designed for permits, experience with how different California building departments operate, fewer revisions through better upfront planning, and a clear process with regular updates. A Who We Work With section lists the client types it serves, from custom home builders and homeowners to developers, ADU builders and remodeling contractors. Stats for projects completed, counties served and approval rate within two submissions sit at the top of the page.
ADU plans, home additions and custom home design pages
Each of the seven services has its own page in the Services menu: custom home design and plans, ADU design, multifamily developments, additions and remodels, garage conversion design and plans, fire damage restoration and construction consultation. On the homepage, the consultation card invites people to bring structural or design questions without worrying about payment.
The ADU page shows how deep these pages go. It covers the benefits of a well-designed ADU and then explains each ADU type clearly:
- Detached ADUs up to 1,200 square feet
- Junior ADUs within the existing home
- Attached ADUs that share a wall
- Garage conversion ADUs
- Granny flats, guest houses and basement conversions
A step-by-step design process follows, from initial consultation and zoning review to design and permit-ready plans, with a client quote about first-submission approval placed alongside it.
Turnaround times, sample approvals and the Sparrow Design & Plans quote form
Drafting clients worry about delays more than anything, so the site answers timing questions before they are asked. Turnaround times are published on the homepage, the Our Work section shows sample projects with their approval times, such as a 3,200 square foot custom home in Roseville and an 800 square foot detached ADU in Folsom, and revision turnarounds are quoted in hours and days rather than weeks.
What happens after you reach out
A five-step outline removes the guesswork: a response within 24 hours, a 15 to 30 minute discovery call, a clear fixed-price quote, drafting with regular updates, and support through city review until approval. The quote form then collects the details that make a first call productive, including the project type, the timeline from ASAP to just exploring, and whether plans already exist. A 5.0 Google review rating sits in the hero of the main pages.
Local SEO for home addition designers in Roseville, Folsom and beyond
Sparrow works with building departments across a wide area, so the site includes 17 city landing pages under a home additions structure, covering Roseville, Sacramento, Elk Grove, Granite Bay, El Dorado Hills, Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Loomis, Lincoln, Penryn, Colfax, Rio Linda, Truckee, Tahoe, Mill Valley and San Rafael. A Cities We Serve list at the foot of each page links to all of them.
The city pages are written for contractors as much as homeowners. The Roseville page, for example, speaks directly to general contractors who need addition and remodel plans, explains why outsourcing drafting keeps crews booked, and compares an in-house drafter, an architectural firm and Sparrow side by side on cost structure, scalability, revision turnaround and point of contact. Titles, descriptions and structured data for all of these are managed in Rank Math.
Blog, FAQs and performance for the Sparrow Design & Plans website
Search questions about permits are specific, so the blog targets them directly with guides such as whether you need a garage conversion permit, an approval-first look at modern house designs, and a walkthrough of the Sacramento plan check process with timelines and correction tips. The FAQ page answers practical questions on plan and permit timelines, permit submission, what is needed to start, revisions, and whether a contractor is needed first.
On the technical side, Elementor handles the page layouts on top of Hiroshi, keeping page styles in external stylesheets that the cache can serve. LiteSpeed Cache handles page caching on the server. The layouts are responsive, so a contractor can check timelines or send a quote request from a job site. If your drafting or design firm needs a site built around how clients actually decide, get in touch.
