The Challenge

Window cleaning is bought on trust and convenience. Before a homeowner, strata manager or aged care facility lets anyone up a ladder, they want proof of insurance, flexible scheduling and fair rates. The SBWC window cleaning website, for Silverback Window Cleaning in East Melbourne, had to answer all three within seconds.

The business also does far more than glass. Tracks and flyscreens, pressure and soft washing, and solar panel cleaning are all part of the service mix, and each one needed to be easy to find without diluting the core window cleaning message.

On top of that, SBWC competes in dense inner-east suburbs where plenty of operators chase the same searches. The site needed to look as polished as the result they deliver and give both residential and commercial clients a fast, obvious route to a quote.

The Solution

I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance, leading with trust. The homepage opens with Silverback's positioning, reliable residential and commercial window cleaning across East Melbourne, streak-free results, fully insured and trusted by locals, followed straight away by service cards for window cleaning, pressure and soft washing, solar panel cleaning, and tracks and flyscreens.

Trust signals sit up front rather than buried on an About page: family owned and operated, fully insured, reliable on-time service and 5-star customer ratings. A residential membership section presents the SILVERSHINE plans clearly, and Get Your Quote buttons repeat at every natural decision point.

Suburb pages, a gallery and a cleaning tips blog support local search, while the build stays lightweight and fast. I maintain the site on an ongoing basis, keeping it updated, secure and streak-free in the code as well.

Silverback Window Cleaning and the East Melbourne customers it serves

Silverback Window Cleaning, known as SBWC, is a family-owned team cleaning windows and exteriors for homes and commercial properties across East Melbourne. Their customers range from homeowners in Hawthorn and South Yarra to aged care facilities and strata buildings, where reliability and minimal disruption to residents matter as much as the result.

Each group reads the site differently. Homeowners want to know the price will be fair and the team will turn up on time. Facility and strata managers want insurance, professionalism and a cleaner who respects staff, residents and daily operations.

The site's messaging covers both without splitting into two separate websites: residential and commercial expertise, a streak-free guarantee, public liability cover and flexible scheduling that works around the customer's routine.

Service pages for window, flyscreen, pressure washing and solar panel cleaning

Each service has its own page, linked from the main navigation and from homepage service cards:

  • Window cleaning, framed around aged care and commercial facilities as well as homes
  • Tracks and flyscreen cleaning for sliding doors and window tracks
  • Pressure and soft washing to restore and protect exterior surfaces
  • Solar panel cleaning to maximise energy efficiency

Separate pages mean each service can rank for its own searches and answer its own questions, rather than competing on one crowded page. They also make internal linking natural: someone reading about window cleaning sees the solar panel option, which helps average job value. A similar exterior cleaning structure worked well for Geelong Soft Wash, where service clarity was just as important.

Membership plans and quote paths that turn visits into bookings

Repeat work is the lifeblood of a window cleaning business, so the SILVERSHINE membership plans get prime space on the homepage. Monthly, quarterly and biannual options are laid out as simple comparison cards showing the discount per service, with shared perks like the free GorillaGuard treatment, 7 day rain insurance and free hard mineral and water staining removal.

The quarterly plan is flagged as popular, which gives undecided visitors a sensible default. Every plan card has its own Get Your Quote button, and a dedicated quote page keeps the process short.

The phone number sits in the header on every page, and the closing section repeats the core promise, fast quote, trusted professionals, fully insured, so there is always a clear next step for both one-off and recurring customers.

Suburb pages and local SEO across East Melbourne

Local search is where window cleaning jobs are won, so the site includes a service areas hub with individual suburb pages for areas like Hawthorn, Richmond and South Yarra. The homepage features those suburbs with Learn More links, which gives both visitors and Google clear signals about where SBWC works.

Title tags and meta descriptions lead with the services people actually search for, such as streak-free window cleaning, pressure washing, solar panel and flyscreen cleaning. A gallery shows real results, and a cleaning tips blog gives the site fresh, helpful content to rank for longer questions.

These are the same fundamentals I cover in my local SEO playbook for Australian tradies: service pages, suburb pages, reviews and a fast mobile experience working together.

Lightweight Breakdance build and ongoing maintenance for SBWC

Breakdance kept the SBWC window cleaning website lean. Reusable sections for service cards, membership plans and suburb tiles keep the design consistent, and I kept custom CSS and scripts to a minimum so pages load quickly on mobile, where most quote requests start.

Since launch I have handled maintenance end to end: WordPress and plugin updates, backups, uptime monitoring and security checks. The site holds a 99.9% uptime record with zero security incidents, 24/7 site monitoring and 100% of pages loading clean, which matters when a facility manager is comparing three cleaners at once.

If you run a cleaning or exterior services business and want a website that wins trust and quote requests in your suburbs, get in touch and tell me about your service area.
