The Challenge
A company that has led indoor plant hire for almost 100 years needs a website that matches its scale. The Plants at Work WordPress website had to present a national market leader with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart and Adelaide, and explain office plant rental to the people who actually buy it: facilities managers, office managers and workplace designers.
Those buyers are not shopping for a single pot plant. They need to understand the service model, where Plants at Work supplies the plants and planters, installs them and maintains them over time, and they need to see the range, from modern planters and custom built-in solutions to large-scale green walls.
The site also had to route enquiries from six states to the right team, and give nearly a century of heritage enough weight to set Plants at Work apart from smaller local operators.
The Solution
I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance, aimed squarely at corporate decision makers. The homepage leads with Indoor Plant Hire and Office Plant Rental, then states the heritage plainly: almost 100 years in the industry, offices throughout Australia and a leading position in the supply and maintenance of indoor plants.
Three service offerings, Pots, Plants and Green Walls, each have a card and a dedicated page. Further sections explain the business's view of plants as a driver of workplace harmony and productivity, the Plant Experts approach to plant choice and lighting assessment, and a clean, careful installation crew backed by an ongoing horticultural team. An Inspiration gallery shows completed installations, a Plant News blog adds fresh content, and a detailed enquiry form captures service, location and company details. State-by-state phone numbers sit in the footer.
As developer and site manager, I keep the site maintained, secured and thriving, with 24/7 monitoring.
Positioning Plants at Work as a national indoor plant hire leader
The first impression of the Plants at Work WordPress website has to say established and national, not local and small. The opening copy does that in a few lines: almost 100 years in indoor plant hire, offices throughout Australia, and a leader in the supply and maintenance of indoor plants. The range is introduced as the latest in modern planters and customised built-in solutions that create new experiences daily for staff and visitors.
That positioning carries into the tone. Rather than selling plants as decoration, the copy frames them as a workplace investment that brings harmony to a busy office and supports productivity and creative thinking. That language resonates with facilities and workplace managers, who often need to justify the spend internally as much as choose a supplier.
Pots, plants and green walls for corporate workplaces
Plants at Work offers three core services, and the site presents each clearly. Pots covers a complete range of modern planters to suit any office area. Plants covers indoor plant hire and plant rental with a range of plants grown for the purpose. Green Walls covers transforming plain walls into living installations, all maintained by the company's plant professionals.
Each service has a homepage card with a Learn More link and its own page, and the main navigation repeats them. Separating them helps two kinds of buyer: the office manager who wants a straightforward plant hire arrangement, and the designer or fitout team looking for a statement green wall. It also gives each service its own search presence for terms like green walls or office plant hire.
Explaining the plant hire and maintenance service model
The real product is the ongoing service, so the site explains how it works. The Plant Experts section describes making plant care easy through thoughtful plant choice, proper lighting assessment and the latest horticultural technology, across everything from conference rooms to large-scale living walls. The Installation section reassures buyers that the crew is clean and careful, protects floors and furniture, and that the horticultural team remains available for questions after installation.
A 3 Easy Steps prompt and a Recent Project Highlight section show where the process leads, and the Inspiration gallery gives facilities managers real installations to share with colleagues. Together these answer the practical questions a corporate buyer has before signing a rental agreement: who chooses the plants, who installs them and who looks after them.
A national enquiry form and multi-state SEO for office plant rental
With offices in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania and South Australia, enquiries need context to reach the right team. The enquiry form asks which services the client wants, Plants, Pots or Green Walls, where the work is required, such as an office or school, and how they heard about the business, followed by company, address, suburb, state and postcode. State phone numbers are listed in the footer for people who prefer to call.
For search, the site targets the core national terms, indoor plant hire and office plant rental, while the state contact details support relevance in each capital city. I use Semrush to monitor visibility and technical health, and the Plant News blog adds fresh content over time. My guide to Google AI Mode and AI Overviews explains why clear service descriptions matter.
Ongoing site management for Plants at Work
A national brand cannot have a site that wilts. As developer and site manager, I keep WordPress core, Breakdance and plugins updated, run backups, harden security and monitor uptime around the clock. The site holds a 99.9% uptime record, zero security incidents and every page loading clean.
New gallery images and Plant News posts are checked for speed and layout before they go live, and the enquiry form is tested regularly so leads from every state keep arriving. I cover the security side of this work in WordPress security in 2026.
