The Challenge

A brand established in 1948 brings expectations. The Page Doors WordPress website had to feel established and trustworthy rather than startup-slick, honouring more than 75 years as a family-run Melbourne icon in security doors.

The catalogue is wide. Page Doors & Blinds supplies custom steel security doors in more than 26 decorative designs, Prowler Proof security doors and screens, aluminium security doors, Brio pleated screens, retractable fly screens, roller blinds, plantation shutters and awnings. All of it needed a clear structure so homeowners could compare options without getting lost.

At the same time, the site had to win competitive Melbourne security door searches against aggressive newer competitors, many of them backed by large advertising budgets. Heritage alone does not rank, so the build needed strong local SEO foundations as well as the right tone.

The Solution

I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance, balancing heritage storytelling with a clean product structure. The homepage leads with the family-owned since 1948 story, then moves quickly to the practical: custom made steel security doors, Prowler Proof screens, blinds and shutters, all made to measure for Melbourne homes.

A Products menu organises the range into Prowler Proof, steel doors, Brio pleated screens, roller blinds, awnings and aluminium security doors, with individual pages for named door designs such as Barcelona, Canterbury, Emperor and Fitzroy, and Prowler Proof ranges like Forcefield, Protec and Diamond.

Strong local SEO runs through the copy, including installation details and a list of suburbs served, while helpful articles and a free measure and quote path convert research into enquiries. The site lives under my ongoing maintenance and security program, patched, monitored and backed up, with a record as solid as their doors.

Page Doors & Blinds: a Melbourne security door name since 1948

Page Doors & Blinds is an Australian-owned, family-run business that has supplied Melbourne homes since 1948. It started with steel doors and later expanded into security screens, blinds, fly screens, plantation shutters, awnings and pleated screens, partnering with respected brands like Prowler Proof, Steel Door Products and Brio.

Their customers are Melbourne homeowners protecting front, back and side entrances, often comparing several quotes. Many value longevity and service as much as price, and the business backs its work with an industry-leading warranty and a satisfaction guarantee.

The website needed to carry that weight. The tone is confident and reassuring, the family story is told without nostalgia overload, and the focus stays on helping a homeowner find the right door or screen for their home.

Product structure for steel doors, Prowler Proof screens, blinds and shutters

The Page Doors WordPress website organises a large range into a structure homeowners can scan quickly:

  • Custom made steel security doors, with design pages like Barcelona, Canterbury, Emperor, Fitzroy and custom designs
  • Prowler Proof security doors and screens, including Forcefield, Protec, Diamond, Insect and Heritage
  • Aluminium security doors
  • Brio pleated screens and retractable fly screens
  • Roller blinds, plantation shutters and awnings

The homepage previews each group with visual design tiles, so visitors can browse styles before reading specifications. Individual product pages present each design and range, then point straight to a free quote, where the team advises on designs, colours and mesh types. This structure also gives Google a clear map of the catalogue, with focused pages for each product family and design.

Local SEO for Melbourne security door searches

Competing for security doors Melbourne takes more than a good homepage. The title, meta description and main headings target the core terms, security doors, screen doors and blinds in Melbourne, while section headings cover related intent like security door installation and custom security doors with a free measure and quote.

A dedicated section lists the suburbs Page Doors installs across, from Camberwell, Glen Iris and Kew to Williamstown, Brighton, Mill Park and Cobblebank, which strengthens relevance for suburb-level searches.

I kept pages lean and fast, because speed influences both rankings and conversions on mobile. My Core Web Vitals guide covers the same performance principles I apply here, from image handling to keeping unnecessary scripts out of the page.

Helpful content and quote paths that convert homeowners

Security doors are a considered purchase, so the site supports research. A Useful Tips area publishes practical guides such as steel versus aluminium security doors, airflow and light, a security door checklist, hidden door weaknesses and the lifestyle benefits of a quality security door.

Each article answers a real question homeowners ask before buying, then links back to relevant products and the quote page. The process is explained clearly: Page Doors visits the home, measures the door jamb, recommends the best option and installs a door made to the exact measurements.

The phone number sits in the header, Request a Free Quote buttons appear at every decision point, and warranty and guarantee details reassure buyers at the moment they are comparing providers. Similar thinking shaped my work for First Choice Bollards, another Melbourne security brand.

Maintenance and security that matches the product

A security door company cannot have an insecure website. The site runs under my ongoing maintenance program: WordPress, Breakdance and plugin updates, off-site backups, uptime monitoring, security hardening and regular checks that every product page and form works.

It holds a 99.9% uptime record, zero security incidents, 24/7 site monitoring and 100% of pages loading clean. That reliability protects years of SEO work and keeps quote requests arriving every day.

If you run an established business that needs a website as solid as its reputation, whether you sell doors, windows, blinds or home improvement products, get in touch and let's talk about your range.
