Key results

  • 99% SEO uplift
  • 96% Lead growth
  • 98% Site speed
  • 97% API build

The Challenge

Inline Security Fence installs high-security fencing and automated gates, and it needed a stronger digital presence to compete in local search and win better-quality leads. The existing Inline Security Fence WordPress website did not reflect the scale and quality of the work, and its structure made it hard for search engines and customers to understand the full range of services.

The site needed a more advanced SEO structure, faster performance and better content organization. Broken links and loose keyword targeting were holding it back, and service information was not set up to grow as the business added new offerings and completed new projects.

There was also a practical constraint. The team needed to keep editing the site themselves in Elementor, so any custom functionality for service pages, projects and case studies had to fit an easy editing workflow rather than lock content behind code.

The Solution

I enhanced the existing site using WordPress, Elementor and custom development in PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with a focus on technical SEO, structured content and overall performance.

The work covered three main areas:

  • SEO improvements, including fixing broken links, refining keyword targeting and strengthening on-page structure for better search visibility
  • Custom post types for services, projects and case studies, so each type of content has its own structure and can scale cleanly
  • REST API integration to handle data more flexibly across the site

Alongside this, I worked on performance optimization to improve frontend efficiency, reducing the weight of pages and making the site faster to load and use.

Because the custom post types connect to Elementor templates, the team can add a new service or project without developer help, and every new page follows the same SEO-friendly structure. The result is a faster, cleaner and more conversion-focused website, reflected in the 99% SEO uplift, 98% site speed and 96% lead growth results.

Who Inline Security Fence serves: high-security fencing and automated gates

Security fencing is a considered purchase. Customers are protecting property, equipment and people, so they want proof that a contractor understands their site and can deliver a reliable result. They compare options carefully, often searching for specific fence types and gate systems before they make contact.

That shaped how the site needed to work. Each service had to be explained clearly, with real projects to back it up, and the path from reading to enquiring had to be short. Automated gates, in particular, raise practical questions about access control and operation, so content needed to answer them.

By organizing the site around services, projects and case studies, Inline Security Fence can now show both what it offers and how it delivers, which is exactly what high-intent buyers look for.

Custom post types for services, projects and case studies

The biggest structural change was moving key content into custom post types. Instead of building each page by hand, services, projects and case studies are now separate content types with their own fields and templates.

This brings several benefits:

  • Consistent layouts, so every service page and project page follows the same proven structure
  • Easier editing, because the team fills in fields rather than rebuilding layouts in Elementor
  • Better SEO, since headings, metadata and internal links are handled the same way on every page
  • Room to scale, with new services and completed jobs added in minutes

Projects and case studies also link back to the relevant services. That internal linking helps search engines understand the site and gives visitors proof of work right next to the service they are considering.

REST API integration and custom WordPress development

To support more flexible data handling, I built REST API integration into the site. The WordPress REST API exposes structured content, such as services and projects, so it can be queried and displayed dynamically rather than hard-coded into individual pages.

In practice this means content can be filtered, reused and presented in different parts of the site from one source of truth. When a new project is added, it can appear in the right places automatically, keeping the site current without extra manual work.

Custom PHP and JavaScript tie these pieces together with Elementor, so the editing experience stays familiar for the team while the underlying structure is far more capable. This is what the 97% API build result in the key results refers to.

Technical SEO for the Inline Security Fence WordPress website

Technical SEO was the foundation of the Inline Security Fence WordPress website project. I started by fixing broken links, which waste crawl budget and frustrate visitors, then refined keyword targeting so each service page focuses on the terms customers actually use when searching for security fencing and automated gates.

On-page structure was strengthened across the site, with clear heading hierarchies, improved metadata and better internal linking between services, projects and case studies. Each page now has a defined role in the site's structure, which helps search engines understand what to rank it for.

These changes support local search visibility, where a fencing company competes directly with nearby providers. For more on staying visible as search changes, see my guide to Google AI Mode and AI Overviews for small businesses.

Performance optimization and an easy editing workflow

Speed affects both rankings and leads, so performance optimization was a core part of the work. I improved frontend efficiency by reducing unnecessary page weight and streamlining how assets load, giving the site a faster, cleaner experience on mobile and desktop.

Importantly, none of this came at the cost of usability for the team. Elementor remains the editing tool, and the custom post types make day-to-day updates faster than before. For a similar fencing project, see Fantastic Fence.
