The Challenge

Braetex Electrical has delivered electrical work in Melbourne since 1998, and its client list includes Tier 1 contractors such as Lendlease, Downer Group and Fulton Hogan. The Braetex Electrical WordPress website had to hold up to the same scrutiny those contractors apply to subcontractors, because procurement teams review a company's site, certifications and project history long before anyone picks up the phone.

At the same time, Braetex serves homeowners and property managers who need an EV charger installed, a compliance inspection completed or ongoing maintenance arranged. The site had to speak to both audiences without diluting either, present EV infrastructure, inspections and maintenance with compliance-grade seriousness, and make it easy to submit a project with plans attached. It also had to stay secure and online around the clock, because a broken page in front of a procurement officer costs more than a lost lead.

The Solution

I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance, structured around the three capabilities Braetex leads with: Electric Vehicle Installations, Electrical Inspections and Electrical Maintenance. Each has its own Melbourne-focused page, supported by pages for solar battery installations, EV charging stations, smart electrical metering and residential and commercial work, plus Projects, Locations, News and a detailed About page.

Credentials do the selling. The homepage opens with Tier 1 contractor experience and a client logo section, and the About page sets out ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification, A-Grade electrician and inspector licensing and the leadership team. A contact form captures company name, service type and uploaded plans or photos up to 20MB, so tender-style enquiries arrive with the detail Braetex needs to quote.

Since launch I have maintained the site to the same standard: updates, backups, security hardening and 24/7 monitoring behind a 99.9% uptime record and zero security incidents.

Who the Braetex website serves: Tier 1 contractors and Melbourne property owners

Braetex is a licensed electrical contractor whose work ranges from individual homes to large-scale infrastructure, including EV charging installations, NBN rollout work and government contracts. Director Adrian Bramante and Operations Manager Simon Bramante lead a team of ISO-qualified electrical inspectors and installers with over 40 years of combined experience.

That mix creates two very different visitors. A project manager at a head contractor wants proof of capability, certification and on-time delivery. A homeowner who has just bought an electric vehicle wants to know the charger will be installed safely and to code. The site handles both by leading with enterprise credentials, then using clear service pages and a homepage FAQ to answer practical questions, such as whether inspections suit homebuyers and rentals, how maintenance works for busy commercial properties and how to get started.

Site structure for EV installations, electrical inspections and maintenance in Melbourne

The information architecture mirrors how Braetex wins work. The main navigation keeps the three core services under one Services menu, each with a page named for its Melbourne search intent:

  • Electric Vehicle Installations, covering home and commercial EV chargers
  • Electrical Inspections, for compliance, property purchases and rentals
  • Electrical Maintenance, for commercial properties that cannot afford downtime

Supporting pages for solar battery installations, EV charging stations, smart electrical metering and residential and commercial work catch more specific searches, while Locations, Projects and News give procurement reviewers the evidence they look for: where Braetex works, what it has delivered and what it is doing now. Every page ends with a route to the contact form, so no visitor has to hunt for the next step.

Presenting ISO certifications and Tier 1 credentials for procurement teams

Name-dropping only works when it is backed up, so I gave credentials a deliberate hierarchy. The homepage opens with a "Trusted by Tier 1 Contractors" statement naming Lendlease, Downer Group and Fulton Hogan, followed by combined experience and projects delivered across multiple sectors. A client logo section and Google reviews sit further down for social proof.

The About page carries the detail a prequalification checklist asks for: ISO 9001:2015 quality, ISO 45001:2018 safety and ISO 14001:2015 environmental certification, A-Grade electricians and electrical inspectors, registered telecommunications technicians, Solar Accreditation Australia and ARCtick licensing. A short quote from Adrian Bramante about contributing to network infrastructure sets the tone. Presented calmly and consistently, these details let Braetex read like the established contractor it is, which is exactly what a head contractor's procurement team needs to see.

Breakdance build details and a project-ready enquiry form

Breakdance gave me a visual builder with clean output, which suits a site that needs to look precise on every screen size. Service pages, project entries and news posts share the same measured, corporate styling, and custom CSS is kept to targeted refinements rather than overrides, which keeps the site easy to extend as new projects are added.

The enquiry form is the working end of the site. It asks for first and last name, company name, email, phone, suburb and the service required, then lets the visitor upload plans or photos up to 20MB with additional comments. A hidden honeypot field filters out spam bots without adding a CAPTCHA that would frustrate a busy site manager. The result is enquiries that arrive with enough detail to scope and price a job on the first reply.

Ongoing maintenance for the Braetex Electrical WordPress website

A contractor that sells compliance cannot have a site that falls behind. I maintain the Braetex site on an ongoing basis: WordPress core, Breakdance and plugin updates applied and tested, regular backups, security hardening and 24/7 uptime monitoring. That routine is behind the 99.9% uptime record, zero security incidents and every page loading clean. I also keep page speed in check as new projects and news posts are added. My guide to WordPress security in 2026 explains the risks this kind of routine protects against.
