The Challenge
Allens Hoists supplies, installs and services workshop hoists across Tasmania from its base on the Midland Highway at Cleveland. Around the hoists sits a whole ecosystem of workshop services: lubrication and compressed air systems, stainless pipe and hydraulic hose crimping, wheel service equipment, column lift commissioning and breakdown repairs. The Allens Hoists custom website had to present all of it as one supplier relationship.
Workshop owners fitting out or upgrading bays buy multiple systems at once, and they are spending serious capital. They need to see the product range, understand the installation and servicing support behind it, and trust that the supplier will still be there when something breaks.
The site had to win that trust from trade buyers right across the state.
The Solution
I built a workshop-equipment site with the catalogue structured by system type, combining WordPress with custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript work. A Products menu groups 2 post hoists, 4 post hoists, scissor lifts and heavy industry hoists into their own ranges, while a Services menu covers hoist installation and servicing, lubrication maintenance and installation, and hoist repairs and maintenance.
The homepage headline, "Hoists in Tasmania: Supplied, Installed and Serviced", states the supplier-installer position in one line, followed by a summary of every workshop service. The About section introduces more than 10 years of industry experience across Australia and the move to Tasmania in 2019. A detailed FAQ answers buyer questions, from choosing the right hoist to how deep the concrete needs to be and which brands, including BendPak and Tufflift, are available.
As Developer and Site Manager, I maintain and secure it end to end.
Workshop hoists and equipment for Tasmanian businesses
The Allens Hoists custom website is built for a trade audience: mechanics, fleet operators and industrial businesses across Tasmania who are fitting out or upgrading workshops. These buyers are practical and well informed, so the site speaks plainly about products and services rather than relying on marketing language.
The About section explains the business in terms trade buyers care about. Led by an owner with over a decade of hands-on experience across Australia, the team specialises in workshop fit-outs, hoist installations, lubrication systems and ongoing maintenance tailored to each client. Since relocating to Tasmania in 2019, it has focused on personalised service and dependable support for workshops throughout the state. Two short proof points, Industry Experience and Reliable Service, summarise the pitch.
A product catalogue organised by hoist type
Buyers usually know what kind of hoist they need, so the product range is organised by type rather than by brand:
- 2 post hoists for general workshop servicing
- 4 post hoists for alignment work and heavier vehicles
- Scissor lifts for compact bays and tyre work
- Heavy industry hoists for trucks and commercial applications
Each category has its own page with a View Range link from the homepage, so a buyer can go straight to the equipment that suits their bay. Brand questions are answered in the FAQ rather than cluttering the navigation. A clear Can't Find What You're After? section invites buyers to call or email so the team can source the right product, which suits a business where many sales start with a conversation.
Services that turn a one-off sale into a long-term relationship
Hoists are only part of the story. The real value for a workshop is having one supplier who installs, services and repairs everything in the bay. The Services page lays this out in full: hoist servicing and installation, lubrication maintenance and installation, compressed air maintenance and installation, stainless pipe crimping, hydraulic hose crimping, wheel service equipment servicing and installation, and workshop breakdowns.
Presenting these together reframes Allens Hoists from a product seller into a workshop partner. A buyer purchasing a 4 post hoist sees immediately that the same team can plumb the lubrication system and keep the wheel equipment calibrated, which makes the larger, ongoing relationship the obvious choice.
Technical SEO and FAQ content for hoist searches across Tasmania
Hoist buyers search by product and location, such as "car hoists for sale Tasmania" or "2 post hoist installation". I used Semrush to research these terms and built page titles, headings and copy around them, with Tasmania and the Cleveland location reinforced throughout. The technical foundations are solid: clean URLs for each product category and service, a logical heading structure and fast-loading pages.
The FAQ section does double duty. It answers genuine buyer questions, such as how to choose the right hoist and how deep the concrete needs to be, and it gives Google and AI search tools concise, factual answers to surface. My guide to Google AI Mode and AI Overviews explains why that matters.
End-to-end maintenance for the Allens Hoists website
As Developer and Site Manager, I handle updates, security hardening, backups and 24/7 uptime monitoring. The site holds a 99.9% uptime record with zero security incidents, and every page loads clean, which matters when a workshop owner is ready to spend serious money and wants a supplier that looks as dependable as its equipment. When products or services change, I update the catalogue and service pages so the site always reflects what the team can supply.
