The Challenge

America's Advantage Remodeling, known as AARE, has an established reputation for premium kitchen and bathroom remodeling. The company needed an AARE custom WordPress website that reflected years of experience and high-quality workmanship, and that felt as tailored as the remodels it delivers.

The company wanted to avoid a generic theme. Off-the-shelf themes come with layouts, features and code that countless other contractors are also using, and they rarely match a brand's exact service structure. For a premium remodeler, looking like everyone else works against the message.

The challenge was to create a digital presence that felt trustworthy, polished and highly brand-specific, while still giving the team a backend that was easy to manage. It had to present kitchen and bathroom services clearly, support the company's content needs and scale as the business grew, without the limitations of generic functionality.

The Solution

I built the website in WordPress using fully custom code: a custom theme developed to match the company's branding and service structure, and a custom plugin built around its content needs. There is no bulky multipurpose theme underneath, just the code the site actually uses.

On the frontend, the custom theme gave me full control over layout, typography and how each service is presented, so the site looks and feels like AARE rather than a template. Kitchen and bathroom remodeling services are presented with a refined, consistent design that emphasizes quality and craftsmanship.

On the backend, the custom plugin gives the team a flexible and structured way to manage content, making updates easier while keeping the design intact. This combination improved the overall user journey for homeowners and created a stronger foundation for long-term scalability, reflected in the theme control and brand trust results for this project.

The AARE custom WordPress website was built for homeowners planning a kitchen or bathroom remodel. That is a significant investment, and these visitors look for a contractor whose work and presentation both feel premium, so the site had to meet that expectation from the first page.

I focused the structure on the company's two core services, kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodeling, so visitors immediately understand what AARE does best. Each service is presented with a clean layout that keeps attention on quality and experience rather than clutter.

The brand's established reputation is woven through the content, giving visitors confidence that they are dealing with an experienced remodeler. A tailored, polished site reinforces that message in a way a generic template rarely can.

Custom WordPress theme built around the AARE brand

A custom theme meant every part of the frontend could be designed around America's Advantage Remodeling instead of adapted from someone else's idea of a contractor site. I wrote the theme with custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript, building templates for the page types the company actually needed.

A custom WordPress plugin for flexible content management

Custom code on the frontend is only half the job. A remodeling company needs to update its content without calling a developer for every change, so I developed a custom plugin to support the site's content structure and give the team a flexible, organized backend.

Keeping this functionality in a dedicated plugin, rather than inside the theme, separates content from presentation. The team edits structured content in the WordPress admin, and the theme takes care of displaying it consistently. That makes updates easier and protects the design from accidental changes.

A focused, purpose-built plugin also avoids stacking up third-party plugins for every small feature, which reduces maintenance overhead and the security risk that comes with it. I explain more about that risk in my post on WordPress plugin vulnerabilities.
