## The challenge

Total Auto is a bayside workshop at 460 New Street in Brighton, delivering logbook servicing, brakes, steering and suspension and a full range of repairs from 7.45am to 5pm on weekdays. The Total Auto Brighton website had to match the professional standard of the suburb it serves.

Brighton drivers expect polish, even from a mechanic. Many own European vehicles and are used to dealership presentation. Total Auto offers a quality service experience without the dealership price tag, backed by 35 years of automotive industry experience, including 25 years in elite motor racing, and the site needed to say so cleanly and confidently.

Above all, the essentials of hours, address and phone had to be effortless to find for busy locals booking around work.

## The solution

I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance, structuring the essentials simply. The address, phone number and weekday hours sit in a bar at the top of every page, and the services menu lists fourteen clear pages, from logbook servicing, brake services and steering and suspension to DPF and EGR, RWC and vehicle inspections, clutch and transmissions, cooling systems, air conditioning, auto electrical, windscreen repairs and wheel alignment.

The motor racing credentials appear as a recurring line throughout the services section, a reminder of the expertise behind routine work. A Why Total Auto section and a 12-month workmanship and parts guarantee add reassurance, and a Hear From Our Customers section adds proof.

A Latest News section keeps the site active, with posts on fuel options, winter readiness, customer profiles, a refer-a-friend offer and the launch of Total Auto Glass. I maintain it neatly: patched, monitored, backed up and everything in its place.

## A Brighton mechanic with motor racing credentials

The Total Auto Brighton website introduces a workshop that has served the Bayside community for more than 15 years. The welcome copy explains the proposition in one breath: premium automotive care without the dealership price tag, delivered by skilled technicians using the latest diagnostic equipment, on all makes and models with a specialty in European vehicles.

The motor racing background is the standout detail. Thirty-five years of industry experience, including 25 years in elite motor racing, tells a Brighton driver that their car is in expert hands. I gave that line prominence throughout the services section so every visitor sees it, whether they arrive for a logbook service or a brake inspection.

## Fourteen service pages from logbook servicing to DPF and EGR

Total Auto handles almost everything a modern vehicle needs, and each service has its own page with a short, clear description. Logbook servicing explains how manufacturer-approved servicing protects a new car warranty. Brake services covers pads, discs and fluid checks. Steering and suspension deals with handling, stability and tyre wear.

Some pages target specific modern problems. The DPF and EGR page explains diesel particulate filter regeneration and EGR servicing, a growing concern for diesel SUV and ute owners. Windscreen repairs sit alongside the sister business, Total Auto Glass, which also has its own place in the services menu. Find Out More and Book a Service buttons sit beneath each description, so every service page has a direct path to a booking.

## News content that keeps a bayside workshop visible

Most workshop websites never change after launch. Total Auto's Latest News section gives the site fresh, useful content, which helps with search visibility and gives customers a reason to return. Posts cover practical topics like fuel options, winter readiness and the importance of tyres, alongside customer profiles, a refer-a-friend offer and an updated capability statement.

I used Semrush to check local search demand for the core service terms, and the news posts give the site room to answer questions directly, which suits Google's AI-generated answers. My guide to [Google AI Mode and AI Overviews](https://amvprosox.com/blog/google-ai-mode-seo-small-business-2026) explains why this kind of content matters. The news section also introduced Total Auto Glass, and you can read that build in my [Total Auto Glass case study](https://amvprosox.com/case-studies/total-auto-glass).

## A polished, practical design for Bayside drivers

Brighton customers expect a premium experience, so the design is clean and confident, with strong typography, consistent service cards and plenty of white space. At the same time, it never sacrifices practicality. The top bar carries the address, phone number and hours on every page, and Book a Service buttons appear throughout.

The Why Total Auto section summarises the value in a few short points, and the 12-month workmanship and parts guarantee is highlighted in the footer as a final reassurance. Customer testimonials in the Hear From Our Customers section give the social proof that matters to drivers switching from a dealer, who want to know an independent workshop will treat their car with the same care.

## Patched, monitored and backed up: maintaining Total Auto

Since launch I have maintained the site with WordPress and Breakdance updates, security hardening, regular backups and 24/7 uptime monitoring. New news posts and service updates are added without disrupting the structure. The site holds a 99.9% uptime record with zero security incidents, and every page loads clean.

For a workshop that guarantees its own work for 12 months, a reliable website is part of the same promise. Customers who check hours or book online should never meet an error page or a security warning.
