## The challenge

Total Auto Glass is a mobile windscreen repair and replacement service based in Brighton and servicing all of Melbourne. It repairs chips, replaces windscreens and restores foggy, discoloured headlights, coming to trade and retail customers on site. The Total Auto Glass WordPress website had to travel as well as the technicians do.

A cracked windscreen is an on-the-spot search, often made from a car park on a phone. The visitor wants three answers fast: can you come to me, what do you fix, and how do I book. The site had to sell the we-come-to-you model instantly and turn mobile searches into same-day bookings.

There was also a name change to handle. The business was formerly Knights Glass, and its existing customers and reviews needed to follow it to the new brand.

## The solution

I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance, with mobile-service positioning up front. The headline says exactly what the business is, "We are a mobile windscreen repair and replacement service", and the supporting line confirms that the service is available to both trade and retail customers. A Formerly Knights Glass note sits at the top of the page so returning customers know they are in the right place.

Service clarity sits beneath. Chip repairs, windscreen replacement and headlight restoration each have a dedicated page, with windscreen repairs and glass scratch repairs covered too. A Servicing All of Melbourne section removes any doubt about coverage, and a Some of Our Customers block shows the trade relationships behind the business.

Booking is one tap away, with the phone number at the very top of every page and a fixed price quote available over the phone. I keep it crack-free: maintained, secured and crystal clear.

## Mobile windscreen repair across Melbourne, from Brighton

The Total Auto Glass WordPress website serves two kinds of customer. Retail drivers want a chip fixed before it spreads or a cracked windscreen replaced without losing a day. Trade customers, such as dealerships and workshops, need reliable glass work on vehicles they are preparing or repairing.

Total Auto Glass sits alongside Total Auto, the Brighton mechanic at the same New Street address, which introduced the glass service to its own customers. I built and maintain both sites, so the two brands support each other while each targets its own searches. You can see how the mechanical side is presented in my [Total Auto Brighton case study](https://amvprosox.com/case-studies/total-auto). Across both, the mobile model is the hero: the technician comes to you.

## Service pages for chip repairs, windscreen replacement and headlight restoration

Glass searches are specific, so each service has its own page and its own clear explanation:

- Chip repairs, the quick, low-cost fix that stops damage spreading
- Windscreen replacement when a crack is beyond repair
- Headlight restoration for foggy and discoloured lenses
- Windscreen repairs and glass scratch repairs for other damage

Headlight restoration is a smart inclusion. Many drivers do not know it can be done, and it gives the business a reason to be found by people who are not yet dealing with broken glass. The Servicing All of Melbourne section explains that every repair is tailored to the vehicle, getting customers back on the road quickly, safely and with clear visibility.

## Carrying Knights Glass reviews and reputation through a rebrand

Rebrands can wipe out years of hard-won trust if handled poorly. Total Auto Glass already had a strong review history as Knights Glass, and I made sure that history stayed visible. The Formerly Knights Glass note appears at the top of the site, and the What Our Customers Are Saying section displays the existing Google reviews, with a link inviting new customers to add their own.

The reviews do a lot of selling. Customers describe technicians arriving on time, repairing chips in minutes and turning around replacements quickly. For a mobile service, where customers are letting someone work on their car at home or at work, that kind of social proof is often the deciding factor.

## Mobile-first design for on-the-spot windscreen searches

Almost every visitor arrives on a phone, so the design starts there. The phone number and address sit in a bar at the very top of the page, above the navigation, so a driver can call without scrolling. Service cards are large and easy to tap, and Contact Us buttons appear down the page.

The layout keeps text short and scannable. A driver standing next to a damaged car does not want to read paragraphs; they want to confirm the service and call. A Get Social With Us section and the customer logos add credibility for those who scroll further, but the primary path is always the shortest one: see the service, tap the number.

## Technical SEO, AI search and maintenance for Total Auto Glass

Speed matters most for urgent mobile searches, so I kept the pages lean and responsive. My guide to [Interaction to Next Paint](https://amvprosox.com/blog/interaction-to-next-paint-inp-guide) explains why tap responsiveness matters for both users and rankings. Focused service URLs, clear headings and descriptive titles give Google precise signals, and the blog adds room for helpful content that AI search tools can draw on.

Since launch I have maintained the site with updates, security, backups and 24/7 monitoring. It holds a 99.9% uptime record with zero security incidents, and every page loads clean.
