## The challenge

Stuckey Tyre Service supplies and fits everything from everyday car tyres to racing rubber from its warehouse and sales office at 828 Sydney Road, Brunswick. It is a long-standing motorsport and classic tyre specialist, distributing Dunlop motorsport tyres since 1972 along with Michelin vintage and Avon motorsport ranges. The Stuckey Tyres WordPress tyre finder had to help customers find their tyre the way they actually shop.

Tyre buyers shop by the size printed on their sidewall, and Stuckey's range is unusually wide, covering modern radials, motorsport slicks, beaded edge tyres and sizes for vintage cars that most retailers have never stocked. A brochure site could not handle that. The site needed a working search-by-size tyre filter, custom functionality beyond a standard build.

It also had to satisfy two crowds at once: budget-conscious daily drivers and serious racing and classic car enthusiasts.

## The solution

I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance plus a custom tyre-size filter integration. The homepage opens with "Find Your Next Set of Tyres" and a Search Tyres by Size dropdown listing well over a thousand sizes, from common modern fitments to vintage, motorcycle and competition sizes. Customers pick the size on their sidewall and go straight to matching stock.

Around the filter, the catalogue is organised the way Stuckey's customers think: Passenger Tyres, Motorsport Tyres and Classic Tyres, plus wheels, and tubes and accessories. Classic and vintage tyre brands such as Pirelli, Michelin, Goodyear, Vredestein, Dunlop, BF Goodrich, Avon and Mastercraft have their own brand pages, and a Tech Info section supports technical buyers.

A Latest Tyre News feed keeps the site current with fitments, range expansions and racing results. I maintain the custom code and the site together: filters sharp, treads deep.

## Motorsport, classic and everyday tyres from Brunswick

Stuckey serves an unusual mix of customers. Everyday drivers in Melbourne's north need affordable tyres fitted quickly. Racers need competition tyres, including bias ply and radial slicks for circuit racing, road racing and rally. Classic car owners need period-correct tyres, from whitewalls to beaded edge tyres, that are almost impossible to find elsewhere.

The homepage welcome speaks to all three, inviting visitors to the Brunswick workshop for anything from off-road and racing tyres to economy tyres for a family car. The About page adds the credentials enthusiasts look for: distribution of Dunlop motorsport tyres since 1972, Michelin vintage and Avon motorsport tyres, and supply from brands including Goodyear, Toyo, BF Goodrich, Hoosier and Yokohama.

## Building the search-by-size Stuckey Tyres WordPress tyre finder

The tyre finder is the heart of the site and the part that needed genuine custom development. A standard WordPress or Breakdance build has no concept of tyre sizes, so I built a custom integration that connects a size selector to the tyre catalogue, letting customers search stock by the exact size on their sidewall.

The challenge is scale and variety. Stuckey's sizes include modern metric radials, older imperial formats, motorcycle sizes and specialist racing sizes, so the selector needed to handle every format cleanly. Placing it at the top of the homepage means most visitors can find relevant tyres in one step, rather than browsing categories and guessing. It turns a complicated range into a simple, familiar action.

## Catalogue categories and brand pages for enthusiast search traffic

Not every visitor knows their size, especially classic car owners researching options. The main menu groups tyres into Passenger, Motorsport and Classic categories, with separate sections for wheels and for tubes and accessories, so browsing works as well as searching.

Brand pages for classic and vintage tyre makers give Stuckey focused pages for searches like Pirelli classic tyres or Michelin vintage tyres, which carry high intent from enthusiasts across Australia. The Tech Info section answers technical questions that knowledgeable buyers ask, and that depth helps both traditional rankings and AI-generated answers. My guide to [Google AI Mode and AI Overviews](https://amvprosox.com/blog/google-ai-mode-seo-small-business-2026) explains why specific, expert content performs.

## Tyre news that keeps the site current

The Latest Tyre News section is a genuine asset for an enthusiast audience. Posts cover new fitments such as the Pirelli CN36, expansions to classic tyre ranges, custom whitewalls fitted for a Rolls-Royce, Dunlop's role at the Goodwood Revival and race wins at Winton.

Other posts explain the business itself, such as Stuckey's speciality in beaded edge tyres, its merger with Old World Tyres and the Stuckey Tyre Brokers service that helps find hard-to-source tyres. Each article adds fresh, relevant content and reinforces Stuckey's authority in motorsport and classic tyres, giving collectors and racers a reason to return between purchases.

## Maintaining custom code alongside WordPress updates

Custom functionality needs ongoing care. Every WordPress, Breakdance and plugin update is a chance for something to break, so I maintain the tyre filter and the rest of the site together, making sure the size search keeps working after each update and that new sizes and products appear in results as the range changes. The site holds a 99.9% uptime record with zero security incidents, monitored 24/7, and every page loads clean.
