## The challenge

RPM Autotech is a friendly, highly skilled workshop in Heidelberg Heights, operating from a site that has housed an automotive workshop for over 50 years. Its point of difference is simple and rare: the team explains all work required and gets your approval before going ahead. The RPM Auto Tech WordPress website had to make that promise impossible to miss.

Many drivers arrive sceptical, having been burned by surprise invoices or unapproved work elsewhere. The site needed to lead with honesty and integrity, introduce a team that feels approachable, and give those drivers a clear reason to switch, while still covering the logbook servicing, mechanical repairs, roadworthy certificates and inspections the workshop offers, in a fast site that works well on any phone.

## The solution

I built the site on WordPress with a lean four-page structure: Home, About Us, Services and Contact Us. The homepage gives the approval-first policy a heading of its own: "We pride ourselves on our honesty and integrity. We will always explain all work required and get your approval before going ahead with any work!" Everything else on the page supports that message.

The welcome section introduces the friendly team and the long-standing workshop location, and a Why Choose Us list covers all makes and models, old-fashioned service, fair and honest prices, pick-up and drop-off and courtesy cars. The header keeps the phone number, address, Find Us, Call Us and Book Now within reach on every page. The build is deliberately lightweight, with PHP and CSS refinements rather than heavy add-ons, so pages load quickly.

I maintain the site the same way RPM runs its workshop: transparent, no surprises and nothing changed without approval.

## RPM Autotech in Heidelberg Heights: a workshop that asks first

RPM Autotech provides major and minor mechanical repairs to customers in Heidelberg Heights and the wider area from its workshop on Montgomery Street. The team describes itself as reliable, proficient and motivated, and its tagline "Car care - fast and fair" sums up the approach: a fast-paced workshop with fair, honest prices.

The approval-first policy is the heart of the brand, so the site is built around it. The welcome copy repeats the promise in practical terms: when you book your passenger vehicle in, you are told about all work upfront, with no nasty surprises at pick-up. For a driver choosing between workshops, that single sentence often matters more than any list of services, so it appears early and in plain language rather than buried on the About page.

## A lean four-page structure that still covers every service

Not every workshop needs dozens of pages. RPM's site uses four, and the Services page does the heavy lifting with clearly separated sections:

- Vehicle servicing and repairs, including LPG servicing, repairs and installations, child restraint fitting and marine and boating services
- Inspections, including roadworthy certificates, safety certificates, pre-purchase inspections and pre-trip inspections
- New car servicing that protects the manufacturer's warranty

Each section explains why the service matters before asking for the booking. The inspections copy acknowledges how stressful buying a second-hand car can be, and the new car servicing section explains how missed services can put a warranty at risk. That educational tone fits RPM's honest positioning and gives visitors a reason to trust the workshop before they call.

## Contact paths for drivers ready to switch workshops

A driver who has decided to try a new mechanic should never have to look for the next step. The header carries the phone number and the Montgomery Street address on every page, along with Find Us, Call Us and Book Now actions. The homepage places a Contact Us button directly beneath the approval-first statement, and the services sections each end with a booking prompt.

Trading hours sit in the footer, with a note that the workshop closes on public holidays and a link to current special trading hours. Practical details such as courtesy cars and the pick-up and drop-off service appear in the Why Choose Us list, because for many customers these logistics decide whether a booking is possible at all. The result is a short path from reading to calling.

## A lightweight WordPress build for fast mobile loading

Most visitors find a mechanic on a phone, often while dealing with a warning light or a failed roadworthy, so a fast first load and a responsive layout matter more than visual effects. RPM's site is built on WordPress with PHP and CSS customisation kept tight, and a simple layout that renders cleanly on small screens.

Fast, stable pages also support search visibility, since Google measures loading and responsiveness as part of page experience. My guide to [Interaction to Next Paint](https://amvprosox.com/blog/interaction-to-next-paint-inp-guide) explains one of the metrics behind that. Headings and copy reference Heidelberg Heights and the core services naturally for local searches, and the meta description summarises the services and the honesty promise in one line, so the listing in search results already tells drivers what makes RPM different.

## Transparent maintenance for the RPM Auto Tech WordPress website

I maintain RPM's site on the same principles as the workshop: explain the work, get approval and leave no surprises. Updates, security checks and backups are handled on a regular schedule, and 24/7 monitoring watches for problems so they are dealt with before customers notice. Any change that affects how the site looks or works is discussed first. That approach has delivered a 99.9% uptime record, zero security incidents and every page loading clean.
