## The challenge

North Geelong Transmission Services is a family-owned automatic and manual transmission specialist with four fully qualified technicians and a reputation for taking on any job, big or small. Transmission work is specialist and often expensive, so the Geelong Transmission Services website had to establish expertise the moment a worried driver arrives.

Most visitors land with a symptom, such as slipping gears, a clunking auto or harsh shifts, and an immediate fear about cost. The site had to calm that anxiety with quality-first, diagnosis-first messaging, show the people behind the work and make it easy to book an inspection. It also had to own North Geelong and wider Geelong transmission searches against generalist mechanics who list transmissions as one service among many.

## The solution

I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance with specialist positioning from the first line: "North Geelong's leading Transmission experts", followed by an introduction to Ivan, Damian, Shane and Justin by name. The service structure has four clear pages, Transmission Services, Parts and Sales, Road Test and Diagnostics and Other Services, each summarised on the homepage with a Find Out More link.

Diagnostic-first framing runs throughout. The About page explains that a free road test is carried out before any work begins, using SnapOn and Autoboss diagnostic tools, and that the workshop holds over 100 new and re-manufactured change-over transmissions to get cars back on the road quickly. A booking enquiry form asks for the service date, car make and model and a message, and Google reviews show real repairs from everyday Subarus to a 1973 Daimler.

I keep the site maintained and smooth-shifting, with no slipping between gears.

## North Geelong's family transmission specialists since 1980

North Geelong Transmission Services was established in 1980 by Ivan Lukesic and is now run with his brother and two sons. Each technician started with the company as an apprentice, and together they bring over 55 years of experience in troubleshooting and servicing transmissions. The business is VACC accredited, and its Separation Street workshop has three hoists and on-site parking.

The About page tells this story because it answers the question every transmission customer has: can I trust these people with an expensive repair? A family business that has trained its own technicians from apprenticeship is a strong answer. On the homepage, naming the team personally and inviting visitors to call in and talk to them turns a technical service into a human one, which is exactly the reassurance an anxious driver needs.

## Service pages for transmission repairs, parts, diagnostics and drivetrain work

The service structure reflects how the workshop actually operates:

- Transmission Services: repairs, full rebuilds and complete replacements using advanced equipment and quality parts
- Parts and Sales: new, rebuilt and reconditioned transmission units and drivetrain components
- Road Test and Diagnostics: advanced diagnostic tools and road-testing procedures to pinpoint faults
- Other Services: torque converters, valve bodies, oil coolers and transfer boxes

Each page has its own focus and call to action, which helps visitors self-select and helps search engines match specific queries, such as transmission rebuilds or torque converter repairs, to the right content. The parts page also opens a second audience, workshops and enthusiasts looking for change-over units, that a single generic services page would never have reached.

## Calming cost anxiety with a road-test-first message

Fear of the bill is the biggest barrier in transmission work, and the site addresses it without quoting prices. The message is consistent: diagnose properly first. The homepage describes the team's pride in quality service when diagnosing your transmission, the diagnostics page explains the tools and road-testing process, and the About page states that a free road test happens before any work begins.

The booking section reinforces it with a simple prompt: "Experiencing transmission issues with your car? Book an inspection with our specialists today." The enquiry form collects name, phone, email, preferred service date, car make and model and a message, with a honeypot field for spam protection. Google reviews then do the rest, with customers describing faults fixed as quoted, same-day repairs and rare parts sourced for a 1968 Valiant.

## Local and AI search visibility for transmission repairs in Geelong

The site is built to own transmission searches in North Geelong and across Geelong. The location appears in the brand name, page titles and key headings, and service pages use the terms drivers actually search for, such as automatic transmission repairs, manual transmission specialists and transmission rebuilds. I use Semrush to keep an eye on those terms and where the site sits for them.

Clear service descriptions and a well-structured About page also help with Google's AI features, which increasingly answer questions like "who rebuilds transmissions in Geelong" with a short summary and a source link. Content that plainly states who the business is, where it is and what it specialises in is exactly what those summaries draw on. My guide to [Google AI Mode for small businesses](https://amvprosox.com/blog/google-ai-mode-seo-small-business-2026) explains how to stay visible as search changes.

## Keeping the Geelong Transmission Services website in gear

I maintain the site continuously so nothing slips: WordPress, Breakdance and plugin updates, security hardening, backups and 24/7 monitoring. That routine has delivered a 99.9% uptime record, zero security incidents and every page loading clean. The booking form is tested so enquiries keep arriving, and content updates go live cleanly. Specialists need sites that look the part, and that look has to hold up long after launch.

Just along Separation Street, I also built and maintain the site for [Peter Murphy Auto](https://amvprosox.com/case-studies/peter-murphy-auto).
