Probiotic tonics and gut-health shots. A wellness brand whose WordPress site, built with Breakdance, sells the product story, and I keep it as healthy as the tonics claim to make you.

## The challenge

Extremely Alive makes sugar-free and alcohol-free living kombucha tonics and probiotic shots, brewed in Daylesford, Victoria, and run from Brunswick in Melbourne. The Extremely Alive WordPress website had to sell a product that sits in one of the most sceptical categories online: gut health and wellness.

Wellness shoppers have seen it all, from miracle cures to vague promises, and they are quick to close a tab that sounds like snake oil. Most of them are browsing on mobile, often after seeing a social post or a stockist display. The site had to explain gut health benefits in plain language, showcase blends like Gut Balance, Brain Booster and Detox + Cleanse attractively, and still be honest about what a functional food can and cannot do.

It also had to be fast, polished and trustworthy enough that a first-time visitor feels safe adding tonics to their cart and paying online.

## The solution

I built the site on WordPress with Breakdance, pairing clean product presentation with plain-language health copy. The main menu covers the range, Tonics, Oxymels, Spritzers and Gift Packs, alongside Gut Health, Recipes, Blog and Contact, and the homepage opens with a simple headline, Transform your Gut Health, and a Shop Now button.

A More Info menu does the trust-building work. It includes Our Story, FAQs, What is Kombucha, Ingredients, How to Use Our Tonics, the Brewing Process, Not Just Any Water and Our Research. Together they answer the questions sceptical shoppers ask before they buy, without overloading the product pages.

The online shop lets visitors browse by category, add products to the cart and check out, with each tonic linking to a Find Out More page. The site stays under my maintenance, with regular updates, security checks, backups and lightweight pages, and it has run clean without a single incident.

## About Extremely Alive, living tonics brewed in Daylesford

Extremely Alive brews living tonics that are free of sugar and alcohol, with names that make their purpose obvious: Happy + Horny, Gut Balance, Flu Shot, Detox + Cleanse, Brain Booster and Spikey Tea. The range has grown to include Oxymels, Spritzers and Gift Packs.

The brand's customers are health-conscious people looking for better digestion, more energy and everyday wellness. Many are already familiar with kombucha but want something cleaner and more targeted than supermarket options.

A key part of the brand's positioning is honesty. The site states clearly that the tonics are functional foods designed to support wellness rather than treat illness, and that no medical claims are made. Building that statement into the site helps the brand stand apart from the exaggerated claims common in the category.

## Product range pages for tonics, oxymels, spritzers and gift packs

Each product category has its own page in the main menu, so shoppers can go straight to what interests them. Product cards present each tonic with clean imagery and a short description, with a Find Out More link that leads to the full details.

New products get their moment too. When Oxymels launched, the homepage gained a dedicated NEW section inviting visitors to check out the range, showing how the Breakdance layout makes it easy to promote new releases without redesigning the page.

Gift Packs give the shop a natural option for special occasions and first-time buyers who want to try several flavours. A cart widget stays visible in the header so customers always know what they have selected, and the path from product page to checkout is kept short and uncluttered on mobile.

## Plain-language gut health education that builds trust

The difference between a wellness brand that converts and one that does not is often education. The More Info section is designed for curious, cautious shoppers. What is Kombucha explains the basics, Ingredients and Not Just Any Water show what goes into each bottle, the Brewing Process page explains how the tonics are made, and How to Use Our Tonics turns interest into a daily habit.

The FAQs cover probiotics, prebiotics and activated living cultures in everyday language. A Gut Health page and a Recipes section give visitors reasons to return, and the Our Research page links to published material and a kombucha research press release.

This layered approach lets a sceptical visitor investigate as deeply as they want, which builds the confidence needed to make a first purchase.

## Mobile speed and SEO for the Extremely Alive WordPress website

Wellness shoppers arrive mostly from social media and search on their phones, so mobile speed is non-negotiable. I keep the Breakdance build lightweight, with optimised product images and minimal scripts, so pages load quickly even on a slow connection.

For SEO, the education pages are a major asset. Searches about kombucha, probiotics and gut health are common, and pages that answer those questions clearly give Extremely Alive a way to be found by people who have never heard of the brand. The Blog, with kombucha and probiotic news, adds fresh content over time.

If you are deciding whether to sell on WordPress or move to a dedicated ecommerce platform, my comparison of [Shopify vs WordPress and WooCommerce](https://amvprosox.com/blog/shopify-vs-wordpress-woocommerce-2026) covers the trade-offs.

## Keeping the Extremely Alive shop healthy and secure

An online shop takes payments, so security is not optional. I maintain the Extremely Alive site with regular WordPress core, Breakdance and plugin updates, scheduled backups, security checks and 24/7 uptime monitoring.

The result is a clean record: 99.9% uptime, zero security incidents and every page loading clean. For a brand built on trust, that reliability is part of the product experience.

I also keep a close eye on plugin vulnerabilities, which are the most common risk for WordPress shops. You can read how I approach that in my post on [WordPress security in 2026](https://amvprosox.com/blog/wordpress-security-plugin-vulnerabilities-2026).
